One of my goals for 2010 is creating my own info product. I have never done so before and doing so for the first time seems very overwhelming and intimidating. I do know that once I cross that hurdle, it will be a process that I will be able to easily reproduce again and again and across multiple niches. Here are some of the reasons for having your own product:
- Make all the profits. Affiliate marketing is great, but often you are only earning a small percentage of the sale. When you have your own info product you get to keep much more of the sale, which is a great way to build your income.
- Become an Expert. One of the ways to gain traffic to your site is to be seen as an expert in your field. Other sites are more likely to link to you or ask you to guest post on their blog, if you are an expert. Having a well respected ebook or ecourse is one way to establish yourself as an expert.
- Stand Out. You will be able to offer a unique product that no one else is offering.
- Leverage the Power of Others. You know how hard you work as an affiliate to gain sales for other people. Now you can have other affiliates do the same for your product.
- Gain Trust. Once your customers are happy with your first product, they are very likely to buy subsequent ones as well. This could mean gaining a customer for life.
